2 years ago, Design Shop Interiors launched our first brick & mortar storefront – The Shop by Design Shop. The Shop features a curated selection of custom upholstery, home furnishings, lighting, textiles, home accessories and more…..we are all things home. We’re looking to add a new Rock Star to The Shop Team to assist in its day-to-day sales, operations & customer design programs.
About this job:
- Title: Shop Stylist
- Hours: Full Time
- Schedule: Currently Monday – Friday with 1 Saturday per month (must be flexible if more weekends become required)
- Salary: hourly based on experience
- Location: Folsom, CA
- Time Frame: We are looking to hire as soon as possible but also looking for just the right fit
- Experience Level: This is not an entry level design position, nor a learn as you go. We are looking for someone with significant talent and experience in the home furnishings side of design.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have an understanding of the DSI brand, look & aesthetic
- Integrate seamlessly with the look we’ve become known for
- Possess a deep love for all things home & design (borderline obsession is helpful)
- Killer taste & design eye one that is consistent with the DSI brand
- Be a team player at DSI we check egos at the door and we all work together
- Be highly motivated & a self-starter
- Have a sense of humor, a killer work ethic and a can do attitude – there is no “I” in team
- Have previous experience in high end home furnishings retail sales/design
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Cultivate a warm, inviting environment and customer experience
- Assist management with daily operations of The Shop
- Take direction from the senior design team to maintain product styling & overall aesthetic of The Shop
- Deep rich knowledge of our product catalog is a must, there’s a lot to know & learn! You will be expected to become an expert in our line
- Work hand-in-hand with customers on product selection and customization resulting in the highest level of client satisfaction and sales
- Assist customers with sourcing specific items from our product catalog
- Work with clients on their in-home styling projects
Skills & Requirements:
- Excellent communication, customer service and people skills
- Previous retail sales experience
- Previous design experience involving furnishings and décor
- Precision oriented attention to detail and exemplary organizational skills
- Working knowledge of merchandising & high end home furnishings
- Mac proficient & a quick learner on software you will be required to learn our project management software as well as drafting software
- Software requirements: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Floorplanner.com
- Bonus points for those who know Shopify, Ivy, SketchUp, AutoCAD or Chief Architect
