Lead Designer

Design Shop Interiors (DSI) is looking for an experienced Lead Designer to join our growing team.

DSI is a fun, collaborative and fast paced environment located in Granite Bay, CA., managing projects that span throughout Northern California & beyond. You would be joining a talented group who pride themselves in their work, but don’t take ourselves too seriously – we laugh with and at each other, checking all egos at the door. DSI is about great design without pretentiousness.

This Senior position requires more than ‘a passion’ for design and is not an entry level or learn as you go position. We are looking for someone who brings some serious design talent to the table and has the experience to work as a Lead Project Designer and execute a project from start to finish.

Job Requirements:

3+ years of design experience working in a Lead/Senior role
3+ years of design experience involving both furnishings and interior architecture
Ability to design within the DSI aesthetic
Proficient skills in G Suite, Microsoft Office & Mac
Proficient in drafting software (Sketchup or Autocad) – you will be required to learn Chief Architect
Experience reading and scaling architectural plans
Ability to measure and draw a space
Ability to convey your designs accurately, thoughtfully & beautifully in design presentations
Décor: Knowledge of furniture, materials & manufacturers
Interior Architecture: Knowledge of materials & manufacturers, ability to design ground up new builds and renovations. A deep understanding of the construction and architecture process
Ability to work Mon-Fri (minimum 35-40 hours per week) at our location in Granite Bay, CA as well as travel to job sites throughout Northern California & Nevada

Job Responsibilities:

Work directly with clients as main point of contact on your projects
Develop scope of work and design concepts based on client needs
Willingness to jump in where needed – you aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty
Work directly with design clients to bring their vision to life & execute a complete project with precision and within the very high DSI standards
Work with clients, suppliers, vendors and reps
Become an expert in the lines we carry and purchase from
