From paint color to siding to lighting and landscape, there is so much involved in designing the exterior of your home!
So in this month’s “We’re Digging,” DSI is sharing our favorite exterior inspiration! You’ll notice we all gravitate toward variations of white and black, which we think is timeless.
Leyla: “I’m digging black houses, traditional or modern. My own house is even black!”
Whitney: “I love this all white house so much it’s classic and modern and beautiful. Also white steel windows I mean heart eyes!! ”
Liz: “The main thing I love from this home, is the architecture. The modern design and the landscaping are my favorite as well. It is structured like my dream Palm Springs, CA summer getaway home.”
Angie: “This house, by Muskoka Living has so many of the exterior elements I am loving right now. The steel windows and doors, the crisp white lap siding, the shake roof and the brick chimney, all very simple and timeless elements. When you see all the surfaces together like this, it creates an exterior that is stunning but cozy and inviting at the same time.”
“This one by Grandfather Homes is another favorite. I love how the painted white brick in the front of the home transitions to a cleaner lap siding in the back of the home. The copper lanterns hanging over the front door, carport and garage are understated and perfect. Both the circular and the leaded windows at the top of the house add so much character and break up the gridded windows and doors. What takes this exterior over the top for me though, is the use of the natural wood doors. That wood garage door pulls you eye all the way to the back of the house and through the gorgeous carport. This is perfection.”
Ashlee: “I have had this image saved on a dream house inspo board for quite some time now. I love the clean lines, the abundance of windows, and the minimalism.”
Eryn: “I love this petite courtyard! I LOVE the white brick fireplace, exposed wood mantle and of course the symmetry of the space, its the perfect back drop for a small gathering or summer dinner outside!”
Bree: “There are several things about this exterior that I love. I love the black, the tall windows, the old with the new, and no exterior is complete without a pool.”
